SOFTBALL  SKILLS  DAY CAMP

DATE : JULY 26TH ,2014

LOCATION: MAYBANK FIELD, DARTMOUTH  (JUST UP FROM MIC MAC MALL )

The Scotia team will be hosting  a Softball Skills Clinic.  This team consist of females from across the province who have been involved in  2009 and the current  2013 Women  Canada Games Softball team.  This Skills Camp is open to both Females & Males.


The Clinic  Session  will include :

       on-field training and instructions

      Pitchers and Catchers training

                                       Hitting Fundamental and Advance Hitting Sessions

                             Beginners  & Advance Skills  & Drills SessionS 

Camp Cost:

      Positional Player: $20

                             Position Player plus Pitchers &/or  Catchers sessions: $30.00.

CANADA GAMES 2017 – AGE CONFIRMED

 We are now able to confirm that the age category for softball at the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba will be U21 for both Men’s and Women’s softball.

 Men’s softball is currently scheduled for - Week 1  (July 28 to Aug. 4,)

Women’s softball is scheduled for -              Week 2  (August 6-13).

 As a result of the Federal and Provincial/Territorial Sport Committee’s (FPTSC) recommendations, National Sport Organizations have the authority of setting the age category according to their LTAD model and with input from the P/T’s, which we have gathered from you over the past several month. The FPTSC also provided a description of what they are looking for in athletes competing at the Canada Summer Games, and that description falls in line with our U21 age category.

 Another outcome of the FPTSC’s recommendations is for each sport to develop “Competition Guidelines” for participating teams, which we will be working on over the next year.

Softball Story In Stellarton Nova Scotia - The Williams Sisters

Andrea and Hannah Williams pose for a photo at the Dorrington Complex in Stellarton where the sisters got their start playing fastpitch. Andrea is now a member of the Johnson State College women’s softball team, while this summer her younger sister Hannah will be playing with theNor’Easter Softball 16 and under team out of Laconia, New Hampshire.

West Hants Thunder U14 Boys Fastpitch Team

Congratulations to the West Hants Thunder U14 Boys fastpitch team on completing a very successful 2013 season.  The Thunder captured the Provincial title in Antigonish and then went on to win the Silver Medal at the 2013 Eastern Canadian Championship held  in Fredericton, New Brunwick.
